Seven attended the virtual Stammtisch that was held using Microsoft Teams. The topic of discussion was “ How did the Pharma manage to shorten the vaccine development lifecycle?”. A number of factors helped the fast development of the Covid-19 vaccine, the most significant of which were:

• Knowledge and experience of previous corona infections such SARS and MERS
• Government provided finance that covered Pharma’s vaccine development risk
• Overlapping of vaccine development and trial phases along with the production phase
• Availability of volunteers for vaccine testing
• Worldwide knowledge sharing including the virus’s DNA

  Next Stammtisch will be virtual and held on Thursday 21st January 2021 starting at 19:30. The topic of discussion is “ Risk Management”.
