Good project management.

The ideal project manager to have is one with PM methodology skills, social skills and the right business and strategy expertise but what about the organisation itself and its level of maturity? Which companies rely on PMI? All sorts and all industries big and small ... Want to know more? You can find an Overview . Can one conclude that an organisation’s project management maturity by its relationship with PMI? Not necessarily. But I think it is quite likely that a company that values PMI certified project management professionals or adopts the PMBoK processes is at a higher project management maturity level than one does not. How does an organisation achieve maturity in project management?
  • See  where you stand:  Many steps are necessary and each one should be assessed.
  • Processes & organizational learning:  Integrate PM processes with business processes to provide knowledge management.
  • Correct understanding of Agile:  Agile frameworks should not be implemented blindly into the organisation.
  • Benefits Realisation Management:  The project’s business case should be linked firmly to the company's strategy and should distinguish between project and product objectives.
  • Roles in the project:  Clearly defined project manager’s roles and responsibilities agreed with the sponsor and HR.
  • EPMO & Co.:  An enterprise wide PMO that ensures project and portfolio management mesh together.
  • Documentation and templates: Project Charter, WBS, schedules, organisation chart tailored to people's specific needs and capabilities to ensure optimum use of resources and at the same time not creating robots.
  • Talent Management: A project management training program leading to certification accompanied by a clear career path.
  • Clear scope statement & Change Management: Project Owner with a clear vision and a competent project manager to implement it.

  • PMBoK : Here I find everything about the management of individual projects, the tasks of the most important stakeholders – and approaches to Agile Development. 
  • OPM : This new PMI standard helps develop project management organisation piece by piece.
  • Change Management : This is the Practice Guide. Or the ACMP's Change Management Standard
  • Enable exchange : Between people in the company, vertically, horizontally, and with others outside the organisation and the PMI Network.
Also, one thing that helps me is to have patience and understanding. For good things take time to happen and it is worthwhile.
