The probably easiest strategy to implement that was discussed was praise. Other helpful approaches include raising awareness of the schedule and deadlines within it. This ensures everybody knows his tasks and can easily see how lags and delays will influence not only the project outcome but also affect other team members' work. 

Some companies have a bonus system in place that allows employees to send small gifts, points or an appreciative message to colleagues. As long as the system is easy to use it can have a beneficial effect on the morale of team members.
